Sugar body scrubs!

Standard

So this isn’t technically a food recipe, this time. Though, I suppose you could eat what we’re about to make here!

Lately I’ve been really into making brown sugar body scrubs. Some with Patchouli oil, some with Vanilla, and others with Cinnamon and Nutmeg. Though, really I suppose you could use any essential oil or smell and get away with it. As long as it’s not going to react bad with your skin!

The great thing, it’s super easy. And you’ve probably got some, if not all of the ingredients right in your kitchen!

First things first, the oils that you are going to use. If you’re like me, and love olive oil, you won’t mind the smell that it gives off in addition to whatever other oil you put in there (the scent you’re trying to achieve). HOWEVER, if you’re not big on that smell, or if you want a more powerful essential oil (say vanilla, lavender, amber, etc.)… I would use a virtually scentless one.

The recipe is SUPER super easy, too.

2 cups Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
1 cup Oil
Start with a tablespoon of the essential oil, and add more depending on your desired level of potency.

Combine the sugars in a bowl until well mixed.
Then add both of the oils, and stir together until well combined. You shouldn’t see any dry spots.

Once it’s well stirred together, you can then put it in any air tight jar or container you’d like.
If you’re making them for gifts, I recommend adorable mason jars. Which you can find easily scavenging at a Good Will or thrift store :D

NOW. Here’s the reason why I’m sharing things.
I’ve just discovered the best way to the smoothest, softest, silkiest legs.

Take said scrub into the shower with you!
Let your legs soak in the hot water for a few minutes, allowing your pores to open up.
Then take a spoonful of your scrub, and exfoliate your legs.
Rinse, and then shave.
Repeat. Yes, I said it. Repeat. Exfoliate once more, and then shave again.
This is going to be a little messier, considering all the dead skin you’ll be sloughing off.
So make sure you’re rinsing your razor more frequently, to prevent getting razor burn or cutting yourself!
Once you’ve shaved the second time, and are out of the bath, lather up with some moisturizer, and enjoy how shiny and soft your legs are!

I’ve been doing this about twice a week, I’m pretty sure doing it EVERY day would be incredibly excessive, and you could rub your skin raw.

But I’m telling you, guys. It’s amazing! Get on it!
